Paul A. McKenna is a graduate of the Tulane University School of Law, New Orleans, Louisiana 1982, where he was a Moot Court Champion. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1982. He received the Martindale-Hubbell AV rating in 2003 which selects lawyers with preeminent legal ability based on expertise, experience, integrity, and overall professional excellence. Ratings demonstrate the highest professional and ethical standards. Mr. McKenna also has membership in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. (Fewer than 1% of US lawyers have achieved membership for verdicts in excess of two million dollars.) Mr. McKenna received the French Order of Merit from the former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, in 2012 for exemplary personal commitment to French-American relations through legal counsel provided to the South Florida community. Mr. McKenna speaks fluent French and serves as legal counsel to the French Consulate in Miami. Mr. McKenna also received the Rodney Thaxton Liberty’s Last Champion Memorial Award in 2001 from the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Andrew Braaksma is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Braaksma is a member of both the Florida and Minnesota Bar Associations. Mr. Braaksma represents clients in multiple practice areas including real estate litigation, foreclosure, condominium and homeowners association law, commercial litigation, and personal injury and wrongful death.
Elizabeth Barreiro is the office manager for Paul A. McKenna & Associates, P.A. and also Ganguzza Title & Escrow, an onsite title company owned by Paul A. McKenna. She has previously owned her own title company and has nearly 20 years’ experience in office management and real estate matters including working with condominium and homeowners associations and closing real estate transactions. Ms. Barreiro is a licensed title agent with the Florida Department of Insurance.
Cheila Trujillo is a senior collections paralegal and coordinates all litigation and collection works on behalf of approximately 50 condominium associations and homeowners associations. Ms. Trujillo works closely with different property managers and Board members from the various associations in connection with her collection duties. She identifies delinquent accounts and assists in the placement of liens and works directly with attorneys Paul A. McKenna and Andrew H. Braaksma in all litigation related to claim of lien foreclosure.
